Storm Smith - Too Young This one is probably one of my favourites, it's about being addicted to drugs and just can't bringing yourself to stop, despite knowing what it's doing to you. I'm afraid I don't listen to many songs of a similar genre as Hide and Seek by Imogen Heap, but in the past few months I've found beautiful songs that you might just like. I just like showing people this song because god damn does it have a hauntingly beautiful atmosphere. His newer albums have much better production though.Īnd while I'm naming songs that have a strange vocal appeal that make me feel existentially depressed, check out Sleep Party People as well. The production isn't the greatest because he apparently recorded it all on his own dime and had to record himself singing in the bathroom because it was the only place he could get good acoustics, but if anything I feel like that just adds to the genuine nature of his songwriting.
He has a bit of a strange vocal style, and it's very hit or miss, but this album is my go-to for feeling melancholy. A bit different from Imogen's style but great nonetheless. Soley (I prefer this live version but the album version is pretty good too)Ĭlams Casino - I'm God - This song samples Imogen and has a great moody atmosphere mixed with a very appropriately rough hip-hop sound.
It's really hard to match Imogen's ethereal singing, but I can try.
